Started in 2022 as an affiliate of CSRA Business Lending (a quasi state agency overseen by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs), Georgia Community Reinvestment Fund is a 501-C-3 non-profit that is a collaborative effort supported by some of the states top economic development agencies to bring additional NMTC investments to severely distressed low income communities in rural and smaller metropolitan areas of Georgia that have higher poverty levels and lower income levels than the rest of the state.

CSRA Business Lending has funded over 1,000 projects totaling over $925 million dollars that have created just under 11,000 jobs since our inception in 1979. Although we greatly value our lending relationships with SBA, EDA, and USDA, those products are not sufficient to bring the kind of economic investment, high quality job creation, and community services that are needed in the most severely distressed areas of our state that are often rural and often communities of color which led to the formation of GCRF.

This collaborative effort to bring additional NMTC’s to these communities is being supported by the Georgia Economic Developers Association, the Georgia Department of Economic and Community Development, Georgia Power, ECG Georgia, the Georgia Municipal Association, the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, and the Georgia Association of Regional Commissions.
